Pumpkin Carving

Fun with the family last night carving pumpkins! A few months ago our neighbor had a garage sale and the one thing Tailan wanted more than anything was a carving kit with a bunch of patterns for different pictures. I must say this is probably the most awesome our pumpkins have ever been. Tailan needed quite a bit of help but Shayde did his mostly on his own.

Shayde did a bat.

Tailan's is the cat face.

Mine is some kind of little monster...

And Dave did a flaming scull.

Some News

Well, yes i have been chastised again about never posting anything new.... So i will try to catch you up.

Dave has been looking into possible career options and has applied to Northwestern Health Sciences University as a Chiropractic student. The school is in Minnesota. If he gets in and we can get our home sold we will most likely be moving for the January semester. It is completely terrifying and extremely exciting. We obviously have a lot changes comeing, bring it on....

We have been having a crazy summer with family parties and a couple short camping trips. unfortunately my camera is not working, so karyn has all the pictures, as soon as she is back from her trip i will work on getting some pictures up.

We had an awesome week full of fourth of july activities. We had a family BBQ with some amazing red white and blue food. We went to the Logan fireworks, the cruise-in parade, the Hyrum parade and saw the Hyrum fireworks! its been many alte nights and crazy schedules. Loads of fun though.

Shayde is waiting in anticipation for school to start, he is excited to be going to kindergarten in the fall. Tailan will be in preschool!!!

All the boys got their heads shaved the other day, still getting used to all the bald heads, and most days wishing i would have joined them.

We still have one remaining kitten form the stray having babies in our garage. He is a cute orange baby, getting to be a big baby. Still looking to find him a home...hint hint.... he loves to play with puff balls and his stuffed unicorn from mcdonalds. he sleeps a lot, is potty trained, and eats grown up cat food...any takers????

Summer, Karyn and I have decided to take our party-loving ideas to the next level. Our business in progress is called Add a Little Flaire. You can see more about it at http://addalittleflaire.com. We are super excited for our Phantom Masquerade Ball in October!

Well, there are the headlines....

Lunch Ladies

At our family Christmas party in December, a cousin suggested getting together for lunch once a month, we we figured out a time and place and we had lunch, except that cousin who made the suggestion didn't show...lol. But here are some pictures of our fun outing.

Happy Birthday Tailan!

Tailan turned three yesterday. We had an awesome dinner of hot dogs and macaroni and cheese (Tailan's request). He got some sets of legos with he loves to build in to the tallest towers, adn perhaps MY favorite- a 'time out' stool! Courtesy of Karyn. It's so cute and I'm sure it will be put to good use!

Sledding

We took the kids sledding the other day, at Millville School. If your looking for a great hill where you can go far but its not so big you can't walk back up, that's the one. Plus all the school kids have packed it down so you go forever!

Things to take note of...

The other day i awoke to Shayde yelling at Tailan downstairs, "YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO TIP THE MILK JUG ALL THE WAY UPSIDE DOWN... that was a full milk jug by the way...

Losing it or bust

Well, I have started a new blog. In an effort to create and maintain a healthier lifestyle I have made myself some guidelines and will try my hardest to follow them. I created a link so you can check in on my progress if you'd like!

Something to talk about

Wow. i bet that title gave you all kinds of expectations... what it should say is "lack of something to talk about"? i don't really have any intentions for this post other than to fell like i am doing something for the few who actually read my blog.

we had a really fun weekend, dave's mom and stepdad came down for a visit from canada. it is always a hoot when they visit, the kids love them, and Gaylen keeps me rolling in laughter the entire time. He loves to tease the kids, and its so funny, cuz they're not quite sure what to make of it....

Pat taught us how to make butterhorns, a secret family recipe that you may or may not be lucky enough to try if dave and i can ever recreate it... completely tasty, that's all i can say.

*random moment of interjection* something smells good, cant figure out what it is... my hair, my shirt, eek, not the couch! not sure, something that doesn't smell like me, but i like it... does that say something about how i smell? lol.

we went down to dave's sisters house yesterday. we had found a chair on freecycle that was close to where she lived so we took a trip, got an awesome chair FOR FREE for all the new space in my clean bedroom. at tricia and pauls we make some yummy pizza, and they shared some truly delicious pepper jelly, which is completely addicting, and slightly surprising because i really am not fond of peppers, but i guess the japalenos ( i know im spelling that wrong, but thats how i SAY it jap-a-lee-nos) jalapenos i have been corrected by the spell checker, i dont know they just get to me. i love the stuff. may have to consider even learning how to make some...

so when we went to pick up the chair we left the cushion there, so we went back later to pick it up and they offered up this awesome end table they had and wanted to get rid of. SCORE! i love freecycle.

well, my kids have discovered that i am here not paying attention to them so now there is an incessant whining in my ear...till later....
