Our Awesome Weekend!

Once again, no pictures...I actually remembered the camera this weekends and still didn't manage to get any photos! ask me how it happens, no idea.

So Dave really wanted to camp this weekend, and I have had stuff going on almost every weekend, so we made plans in spite of my Saturday night activity. I drove up Sat morning to find a spot, then ran around crazy trying to get everything packed etc. So Dave got home and I drove the boys up to the campground, then came back down to go to our Happy Moms Club Movie Night, which was a blast!

On the way home fom the movie we realized that my tires were making this odd screech-ker-clunk noise, so my awesome neigbor (the same one who rescued my cat by the way) came out and took my tire off and we realized that one of the bolts holding the brakes on was missing!

I was supposed to head back up to the campground that night, and knew Dave would be getting worried, because it was already late, so he (Jay, he's my neigbor) let me take his truck up to camp, and he was going to go to walmart and see if he could find a bolt. We had invited them to come up for dutch oven dinner on Sunday anyway, so we could trade vehicles assuming all went well with fixing ours.

So I drove back up to camp and pulled in to the site and all was dark. I headed to the tent when Dave called out from near the firepit. I shined my flashlight (which I had also borrowed from the neighbor cuz I realized we had forgetten any and I didnt even have one that worked) over to where he was sitting and realized he was in the process of blowing up our double high queen size mattress manually. The best part- he had already blown up one for the kids! I forgot I had the air pump in my truck when I left, and didnt even have it then becasue I didn't have my truck!

So, Dave managed to get it filled up without passing out, by that time it was about one in the morning. Sunday morning the kids woke up and Tailan got to my glasses before me and snapped off the good side (if you didn't hear i already had one side stuck back together with some kind of bonding putty. Tailan again. lovely.) So I went blind most of the day. Luckily our friends were able to get the brakes fixed and brought out truck back, in which was some duct tape. so now i have one side putty, one side duct tape. its quite the fashion statement!

We also didnt know that there was no water source up there. It was a real campground but i guess it was far enough they didnt plum pipes, so we had a large jsut we brought with water but taht ran out sunday night, so i was kind of worried about making it through another day with no water. This morning when i went to the bathroom i looked out at the camp accross the road, which had been vacated, which i could actually see, thanks to my repair job, and noticed two bottle of water sitting on the table... all alone.... i took them.

Shayde was really offended... "those aren't yours mom" we have been teachng him about stealing. its sinking in dangit. but i was desperate. They were almost full and there were no floaties. and we drank it. now you know.

ok, my fingers are hurting. im gonna go to bed.

Whats YOUR case?

So the other day, over scrambled eggs, Shayde turns to me and says "I rest my case Mom."

"What case?" I ask.

"The red one, for my arts and crafts."

Radar Radar

For those of you whom i see on facebook, you may have seen my post about our cat being lost. He got out sometime Tuesday, I didn't know he had, and that night when we went to bed he was no where to be found. I kept checking all day Wednesday to see if he would come back around, and the later it got the more I worried he had been run over by a tractor or gotten stuck in one of the building they are constructing down the street. Well last night as I went to bed I resigned mylsef that we might not see his again, I had a good cry, and listened for him mewing outside till i finally fell asleep.

Sometime around midnight there was a knock on our door (which I did not hear, much to Daves dissapointment), he got up and there was out neighbor with Radar! He had been driving home from work and had seen Radar in the road down the street towards the High School, he pulled over and got to him right before the cat jumped down a storm drain! He was the only person I had told about the cat being lost and probably the only neigbor who would have recognized him!

We are so happy to have Radar back safe and sound, even though he is a little miffed that he's grounded from going outside without adult supervision!
